Harrison McCain Visiting Professor - Dr. Andrea Lawlor

The Law and Society Program welcomes Dr. Andrea Lawlor to the Acadia campus from March 3 to 7 as a Harrison McCain Visiting Professor.

Dr. Lawlor is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Public Policy Digital Society programs at McMaster University. Her research agenda focuses on law, public policy, media analysis and election administration and has been featured widely in top Canadian and international journals. She holds a PhD in Political Science from McGill University and a PhD in Law from Western University.

She is a dynamic interdisciplinary scholar whose work embodies the objectives of the Law and Society Program to think critically about the law, legal systems in Canada and abroad, and consider how the law intersects with pressing political, economic, environmental, and social issues.

While visiting Acadia, Dr. Lawlor will be working on a SSHRC-supported book project on public support of the Supreme Court of Canada with Dr. Erin Crandall (Coordinator, Law of Society; Department of Politics), a book manuscript on institutional trust and political leadership with series editor Dr. Alex Marland (Jarislowsky Chair in Trust and Political Leadership), and giving a guest lecture in LAWS 3003 Approaches to Law and Society.
